650 partners to drive AI for all in India: Microsoft

Microsoft India underlines commitment to democratize artificial intelligence Bengaluru, March 28, 2018 : At its AI for All conference in Bengaluru, Microsoft India today showcased some of its most recent artificial intelligence (AI) solutions aimed at helping improve lives and transform businesses. Microsoft India said it is helping 650 India-based partners use the Microsoft cognitive services, IoT, AI and machine learning platforms to build solutions for India. Partnership announcements have long been a tool for pumping altcoins and shilling ICOs. SMBs improve chances of better market access & profitability by three times with high cloud usage: Microsoft & TARI

New Delhi, March 12, 2018 – In a study to measure the social and economic impact of cloud usage among 275 SMBs across 11 Indian cities*, Microsoft and the Thought Arbitrage Research Institute (TARI) found that small and medium sized companies (SMBs) improved their chances of better market access and profitability by three times with high use of cloud technologies. The study captured data showing significant increase in market reach, improvement in employee productivity and operational processes, and an improvement in work-life balance as a direct correlation of increased cloud usage. CEOs in SMBs said, the use of cloud technologies helped their companies with the flexibility of technology usage and by extension in carrying out business operations. Hackers Target 400,000 Computers with Mining Malware

More than 400,000 personal computers have been attacked in a large-scale attempt to distribute cryptocurrency mining malware. The hackers used sophisticated trojans to infect PCs mostly in Russia, but also in Turkey, Ukraine, and other countries. The coordinated assault lasted more than 12 hours. According to Microsoft, the majority of the attacked computers, 73%, were located in Russia, followed by Turkey with 18% and Ukraine – 4%. New Delhi, March 08, 2018: Today, at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society ( HIMSS ) annual conference and exhibition in Las Vegas, NV, Microsoft announced the expansion of the Microsoft Intelligent Network for eyecare ( MINE ), now AI Network for Healthcare , to create an AI-focused network in cardiology, in partnership with one of the largest health systems in India, Apollo Hospitals . The AI Network for healthcare is part of Microsoft Healthcare NExT aimed to accelerate healthcare innovation through artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Microsoft announces first renewable energy deal in India

BANGALORE, India — March 6, 2018 — Microsoft Corp. has announced the completion of its first renewable energy deal within the Karnataka state of India. The agreement will see Microsoft purchase 3 megawatts of solar-powered electricity from Atria Power to help power its new office building in Bangalore. This will meet 80 percent of the projected electricity needs at the new facility. This deal is part of a state government of Karnataka program to encourage investments in local solar energy operations, in line with the larger Indian government goal to ramp up solar power generation to 100 gigawatts by 2022, as part of India’s efforts to mitigate the effects of climate change. “Investing in local solar energy to help power our new Bangalore office building is good for Microsoft, good for India and good for the environment,” said Anant Maheshwari, president, Microsoft India. “We are proud to be deepening our long history of partnership and investment in India with this agreement.
